About this method
Based on Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard (Minervini)
**VCP Master — a high-quality breakout playbook inspired by Mark Minervini's SEPA methodology** (Specific Entry Point Analysis).
**Two pillars:**
1. **The Trend Template (8 criteria)** — a stock must qualify BEFORE you consider buying: above rising 50/150/200 MAs with proper stacking, 30%+ above its 52-week low, within 25% of its 52-week high, and showing relative strength vs. the market.
2. **The Volatility Contraction Pattern (VCP)** — a base where each successive pullback gets tighter (e.g., 25% → 15% → 8%) with volume drying up. This signals supply has been absorbed by institutional accumulation.
**The entry:** buy the breakout above the <strong>Pivot Point</strong> (top of the final, tightest contraction) with volume 2x+ the 50-day average.
**Risk:** cut losses at 7-8% below entry, never more. Risk ~1.25% of capital per trade.
